“I look back at all the work I’ve done over the last 14 years and many things come to mind. Most importantly, how bad my hair was in the first ‘Harry Potter’ film. But the cool thing is… you’ve supported me in all my awkwardness and allowed me to grow into the kind of actress and kind of person I hope to be. So thank you very much for that. Becoming yourself is really hard and confusing, and it’s a process. I was completely the eager beaver in school. I was the girl in the front of the class who was the first person to put her hand up. It’s often not cool to be the person who puts herself out there - and I’ve often gotten teased mercilessly - but I found that ultimately, if you truly pour your heart into what you believe in, even if it makes you vulnerable, amazing things can and will happen. I’m so honored to be receiving this and I promise to keep making the best work I can for all of you. I don’t know, man, but it doesn’t feel even a little bit like summer. I’m still just as tired, just as worried about school, work and money. Just as stressed.

I haven’t had the best emotions lately. I am happy, for some time…then I become really quiet, sad, and emotional. And I can’t snap myself out of it. And I can blame it on one thing or another or several, but really…I don’t have a good reason to be sad. I have “reasons” (read: excuses to myself). Not good enough.

Wednesday, I got so sad…I curled up in bed, wrapped myself in my comforter and fell asleep in the middle of the day. I woke up hours later, drenched in sweat and really, really confused. But Wednesday night made up for that…in some ways. That night I went to see Star Trek (the midnight showing) with my brother and a friend of ours. We don’t get to see the friend very much (maybe twice a month or so…) and I was happy he could get together with us. After the late movie, we went to Steak n Shake (kind of our tradition) and got home really, really late (4:30 AM, yay). It was pretty enjoyable and I can’t say I was upset at all while I was out with them.

But sure enough, the next day and now Friday…I spent some time upset for some unknown reason. It’s confusing and I think the most upsetting part is the fact that I’m so emotional for no reason. Its just weird.
